Lolita was a commissioned piece created for a rugged man who owns his own construction company. The challenge was to portray a sexy yet slightly naughty woman tastefully done in abstract style while maintaining a sense of realism. It was requested that the painting look rugged and masculine. To achieve this, drywall paste was slathered over the surface of the canvas then the paint was applied and manipulated using dry wall scrapers and sanders. An execution that almost appears as though it was painted on an old concrete wall. Perfect for the professional man of construction.
